Will I be admitted to the hospital or treated at home?
One of the commonest questions is whether hospitalization is needed for gonorrhea, and there is no certain answer. Most patients with gonorrhea do not need admission to be treated for gonorrhea. Antibiotics are usually received at an outpatient clinic or even at home. On the other hand, if you have one of the complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease in females, you may need to be admitted to the hospital to be monitored and to receive additional treatment.
